Linkin Park
I got back from the Linkin Park concert earlier and I have to say the guys were fantastic! Truly awesome!
The support bands were OK, with the Lost Prophets sounding better than local band Kinesis. But Linkin Park blew them both away. The level of professionalism was a world apart. From the lighting and sound to the songs themselves but mostly I think it was the band’s presence on stage. And the songs. And Chester’s voice (which took two songs to really warm up but which was then outstanding). And Mike Shinoda strutting round the stage firing his rap lyrics scattergun stylee. And the songs. And the fantastic rapport with the audience. You knew these guys were really enjoying themselves. They had tons of feedback from the crowd. Mike joined the people on the pit at one point. Rob on drums worked hard all night and along with Brad and Pheonix provided the solid foundation to most of the songs all night. Joe was great too, ignoring the fact that he seemed to be wearing what appeared to be a green halloween mask all night!
All in all a thoroughly fantastic night. I can’t wait for the Live in Texas DVD. It won’t be the same as being there but maybe the next best thing.

Yeah, I was at the M.E.N on Friday, and they blew me away. You should give more credit to Kinesis and Lostprophets though, they were great aswell, it was fun jumping around to Shinobi vs Dragon Ninja. But that was the first time id seen them live and I was impressed. The stage looked odd tho…but I suppose thats the kind of thing they like. Highlights include when they played My December, it was amazing looking at all the upheld lighters….ahhh… And when they played one step closer at the end, (was it when they came back on?) everyone went mad…hehe fun…

Hi Matt, I think you are right I didn’t say much about Kinesis and Lostprophets. But from where I was sat (up in the clouds) the sound was terrible for both. You couldn’t really hear the vocals OR the guitars! Pretty much only bass and drums. So I couldn’t really get a proper impression of them. It was clear the Lostprophets got a much better reception from the crowd, and they looked like they were having fun!

no fair!! I think Linkin Park are FANTASTIC - but live in stinky England where they’re not gigging yet - as far as I know anyway.
Did manage to catch them at the Reading Festival this year though. They were brill but the crowd sucked.

I was at the gig on 22nd!! It was amaaazing! Chester was really, really great! I’d never heard kinesis before but i thought they were pretty good though they didnt get a great response frm the crowd! I liked lost prophets ages ago so was very suprised and Happy to see them there! The only bad thing was that my camera ran out of battery and i didnt get any decent photos! If any one has any id b reeeeealy grateful! Jess x

hiya, just been looking at the comments, I was at the gig at the M.E.N. Arena, I can’t say I was too impressed with the supporting bands, although as has already been said, the lost prophets were the better of the two, and as was said LOUDLY at the gig, kinesis where kin s**t. But more than was expected as it was my first LP gig, they were EXCELLENT!!!, I wasn’t sure if they were actually going to be as good live but they were. I’m just hoping they come back soonish because I will be first in line.

hey, the best thing about linkin park is they have a very different n unqiue sound. the whole band work together so well. the best thing is the words can relate to all the youth of today…thats y ur fans come from all over. the way you touched me was, i have been living out of home now and my family werent really there for me. the only way i really thought someone understood me was through ur music…the words of ur songs really hit ppl deep. so thankyou for understamding. yes, my favourite is mike. not just cos ur hot but i think the way u rap is incredible. love always simone from melbourne, victoria, australia….

Chester’s absolutely fine! As jumpy and active as ever. I just wanna say, he certainly gave his usual 110% here in Manila, Philippines on June 14. ALSO, as usual, he won the hearts of many filies. i dunno about anyone elses opinion but at the start fort minor was ok i only really liked it cuz mikes in it but im a fan of linkin park not of fort minor and now im fearing linkin park have permanently broken up not just 4 that break they wer havin. im with mike on fort minor but if he didnt think of that wouldnt there be another linkin park album out now and theyd be popular again almost anyone i talk to says lps crap and i cant stand it i know itd be different if they were brought bak to life. anyway wth fortminors success i dont see lp ever havin that new song ive been waiting almost over 3 years for i just dont see lp together again unless they make albums without mike which id prefer than them splittin but would they still have the magic touch theyve had for these 5 successful years.

Linkin Park is going to breakup, sorry guys just read it in the newspaper today. Apparently they are using Fort Minor as an excuse a diversion some might say. Chester and Mike just cant go on. They are going out and so are the Gorrilaz but hey at least we still have Fort Minor!

I don’t know where LinkinMinor gets their news from but I’ve not seen anything of the kind from anywhere else. Linkin Park are still going strong, they are announcing tour dates for August, as well as talking up the next album release.

Linkin Park is on hiatus….. Mike is working primarily with Fort Minor on their newest and next cd’s…. He said in an interview that he has plans to get back with Linkin Park at a later date. My father who works at Def Jams records says that they have been contacting LP for a record deal in the future followed by a tour for the release with Fort Minor… if you want to talk i cant be contacted by mail or by AIM SN is cmhmco
