I felt this one just as I was trying to get to sleep this morning. It shook the bed and rattled the wardrobe. Associated Press reported it as the Second largest UK quake since 1984. The BBC reported it as the biggest earthquake in the UK for nearly 25 years.
The rest of the house slept through it, including the dog!
Of course, for old timers on this blog, this isn’t the first time I’ve mentioned earthquakes

I saw this on the news. It wasn’t that big compared to earth quakes in some parts of the world.

I didn’t notice anything as I was far from the epicentre in S E Wales. I was just dozing off when I heard a crash and my two pet cockatiels frantically fluttering about in their cage. I thought that one of them had had a bad dream or they had been fighting so I took one of them into the bedroom with me to sleep. This happened at the same time as the earthquake. Animals are much more sensitive to the slightest earth tremors than humans.

i was watching TV in bed when all of a sudden i felt the bed shaken i didn’t no what to think the first thing that come to mind was that there was an angry ghost in my bedroom until the shaking stopped that’s when i realised it must have been an earthquake it took me ages to get back to sleep it really frightened me

I was asleep in bed, woken suddenly, I felt the whole place shaking, there was a rumbling sound, the things on my dressing table where rattling and I saw the walls were wobbling like JELLY! I never experienced anything like that, my heart was beating fast I was very afraid, it felt like the end of the world. I cannot believe people could sleep through it or worse that an animal wouldn’t notice it.
