New Journalized Theme Beta Released

After nearly two years of inactivity, I have finally updated and released a new version of my Journalized Theme.

The theme includes support for WordPress 2.7 features, but is backwards compatible with WordPress 2.5 and 2.6

Just some of the new features:

  • Comes with six built in ‘skins’ (including the old Blue, Sand, and Winter)
  • A new administration interface to configure the theme.
  • Support for widgets, tags, and Gravatars
  • Can be configured to have 1, 2, or 3 columns.
  • Supports custom header image, including in the background
  • and many more…

Go check it out and let me know what you think. (Leave feedback on the theme page, not here)

  3. How do you make it a fixed width? The standard stretch looks really bad on widexreen monitors. Is there an easy option? If not, what part of the code do I need to edit to make the width something like 720 pixels?

You do awesome work – thanks! – Joe

  4. A directory is missing. Also this page—https://journalized.zed1.com/themes/journalized/—really needs to be updated.

No, I was not informed which directory was missing. Other than the theme folder and the skins directory what other directory should there be?

  5. Joe,
Alas you cannot (easily) make it fixed width. It is designed to be fluid (flexible) with just the middle column expanding. And if you make your browser very narrow, the middle column also will stay at a minimum width and on top of the other columns.

Sorry. It would take a major re-design of the theme to enable that. Perhaps my next theme will have that option.

    Mike
