Journalized Theme 2.7.2 Released

There is a new ver­sion of my Journ­al­ized theme avail­able. This ver­sion, 2.7.2, fixes a couple of bugs raised by users.

  • A couple of 2.7 only depend­en­cies have now been fixed.
  • A prob­lem with ver­sions of PHP less than 5 was fixed.
  • The theme is now trans­lat­able and comes with Rus­sian built in (Thanks to Dmitriy Donchenko)

I am par­tic­u­larly inter­ested in feed­back on the inter­na­tion­al­isa­tion of the theme. This is the first time I have trans­lated a theme, so I may have done some things wrong! I have included the POT, PO, and MO files. If any­one wishes to trans­late the theme to other lan­guages, please do, I am more than happy to dis­trib­ute other lan­guage files with the theme.

Xmas Skin For Journalized Theme

As a sea­sonal treat I have released the Xmas Skin I occa­sion­ally use on this blog as an extra skin for my Journ­al­ized theme.

You can down­load the xmas skin here:
xmas-skin-2.7.1.zip.

  • Once you have down­loaded it. Unzip it, then upload the files to your journalized/skins directory.
  • Go to Appear­ance -> Journ­al­ized Options in the admin screen, and select the new skin.
  • If you want a pic­ture of Santa to appear along side your blog title, type ‘santa.gif’ into the ‘Header Image’ box and uncheck both ‘Add the image in the back­ground’ and ‘Turn off the blog title’.
  • If you want your header to be full width, check that box and set header image height to be 138 pixels (that worked for me)
  • Finally save your set­tings and you are done

I hope you enjoy this bit of sea­sonal frivolity. ;-)

Journalized Theme 2.7 Final Released.

After feed­back from users and some minor tweaks, my Journ­al­ized Theme ver­sion 2.7 is finally released! The theme is no longer in beta and is ready for the big time.

A reminder of some of the new features:

  • Comes with six built in ’skins’ (includ­ing the old Blue, Sand, and Winter)
  • A new admin­is­tra­tion inter­face to con­fig­ure the theme.
  • Sup­port for widgits, tags, and Gravatars
  • Can be con­figured to have 1, 2, or 3 columns.
  • Sup­ports cus­tom header image, includ­ing in the background
  • and many more…

New Journalized Theme Beta Released

After nearly two years of inactiv­ity, I have finally updated and released a new ver­sion of my Journ­al­ized Theme.

The theme includes sup­port for WordPress 2.7 fea­tures, but is back­wards com­pat­ible with WordPress 2.5 and 2.6

Just some of the new features:

  • Comes with six built in ‘skins’ (includ­ing the old Blue, Sand, and Winter)

Journalized Theme 2 Beta 2

I have released a minor update to my Journ­al­ized Theme ver­sion 2. This fixes issue where is didn’t save your options. Some people have repor­ted this prob­lem. Hav­ing found and fixed the bug, I can­not under­stand how it ever worked, unless WordPress’ get_settings() func­tion has changed.
I have also included a fix for the slashes prob­lem in the column head­ers, and a couple of minor cleanups. You can get it from here: journalized-theme-2.0-Beta-2.tar.gz or journalized-theme-2.0-Beta-2.zip .

Remem­ber this is still beta code. It is a minor update to the pre­vi­ous release. I have a lot more code writ­ten, but it is not com­plete or tested yet.

New Journalized Theme Beta

There is a new beta release of my Journ­al­ized theme for WordPress: Ver­sion 2.0 Beta 1.

There a few things dif­fer­ent about this new version:

  • All pre­vi­ous ‘skins’ (Blue, Sand, Winter) com­bined together
  • Three new skins + more to come
  • A new admin­is­tra­tion inter­face to con­fig­ure the theme.
  • All known browser bugs addressed
  • Sup­port for plugins
  • Com­pat­ible with WordPress ver­sions 1.5.x and 2.0.x
  • Lots more to come
